The Birch Hill Weather Station is back online! The old weather computer died over the summer, and we have experienced a few trials in getting a new computer that could communicate with our weather instruments. The new WeatherDisplay software we are using will allow us to customize the new weather page as we learn its interface and capabilities.
Current temperature and humidity data appears to be accurate. The snow temperature sensor may require recalibration, or it may be affected by burial in the snowpack. Winds were calm when the new software was configured, so we'll have to wait for a breezy day to test anemometer readings.
