Logan Hanneman and Melissa Lewis both nailed down back-to-back victories Sunday, winning the final event in the Buetow Dental Distance Series, the 30Km Raven Romp, presented by Raven Cross Country.

Below are the start times for tomorrow’s fourth race in the 17th Annual Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series, the Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Open.

If you registered for Town Series #4 in January for the postponed January 26^th race and you still plan to race this weekend in the makeup of the postponed event, please go to: http://www.nscfairbanks.org/new/index.php/racing/town-race

The third race in the 15th Annual Buetow Dental Distance Series, presented by Raven Cross Country and organized by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, is scheduled for Sunday, February 17th.  The 30Km free technique mass-start event starts at 11:00AM in the Birch Hill Ski Stadium at the Birch Hill Recreation Area.  A shorter event is available for those wishing to race a lesser distance.

The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is pleased to announce the fourth race in the 17th Annual Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series, the  Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Open, will be held Saturday, February 16, at 11:00am at the Jim Whisenhant Ski Trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area.  The Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series provides a competitive forum for skiers of all ages beginning with pre-schoolers.  Over 200 entries are anticipated.  The race was originally-scheduled for January 26, but was postponed due to -30F temperatures.

The Lathrop girls team expanded their lead over second-place West Valley in the 4x3.3Km Classic Relay Saturday at Birch Hill, and the West Valley Boys did the same.

Lathrop's Jade Hajdukovich and West Valley's Max Donaldson were the individual champions, both by margins of more than two minutes for the 7.5Km and 10.0Km courses, respectively.

Due to solid weather forecasts of very cold temperatures and a very high inversion layer, the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks has postponed the fourth race in the 17th Annual Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series, the Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Open, which was originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 26th.  The tentative makeup date for the race is Saturday, February 16.

Here is the NSCF competition schedule for the next few weeks.  All races scheduled for Birch Hill.

• Saturday-Sunday, Feb 2-3 – Besh Cup #5 and #6
• Friday-Saturday, Feb 8-9 – Region VI Championships Individual and Relay
• Saturday, Feb 16 (if the Besh Cup and/or Region VI Championships don’t get postponed) – Town Race Series #4 makeup (interval/free for high school and adult classes; ski cross for elementary and junior high)
• Sunday, Feb 17 – Buetow Dental Distance Series #3, presented by Raven Cross Country

Racing begins at 11:00am in free technique with high school and adult classes in interval start format: 5Km for men and 5Km for women.  The race will be held on the same course to be used for the free technique interval start event at the 2013 Junior National Championships, so it is an excellent opportunity for local skiers who may be racing at the 2013 JN’s to get competition experience on the course.
