Steve Taylor took his second win of the 2018-19 series in this week’s Wednesday Night Race on February 27. Taylor had a time of 16 minutes, 52 seconds in the 5-kilometer, two-lap race. Race organizer Peter Delamere took second with a time of 18:14. Melissa Lewis (18:42) took third and was the first female finisher.

Cheyanne Gonzales won the 2.5-kilometer, one-lap race with a time of 16 minutes, 26 seconds, with more Gonzaleses right behind! Christy (24:57) took second and Libby (24:58) took third.

The field of 10 skiers enjoyed warm temperatures and nicely groomed trails for a fast ski at Birch Hill Recreation Area. See here for entire results.

The next race is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3. The Wednesday Night Race series, sponsored by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, is an all ages and all abilities series of ski races. These family-friendly events are a great way to get to know your ski club, test your skills on the trails, and have a little fun.
