The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is pleased to announce the fourth and final race in the 24th Annual KINROSS Fort Knox Town Race Series, the Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Ski-Cross, will be held Sunday, March 1, at the Jim Whisenhant Ski Trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area.
Racing begins at 12:30pm in free technique with all classes racing in ski-cross format. Distances will be: 1000m for high school age and adult skiers, 800m for Grade 7-8, 600m for Grade 5-8. The competition will start with the older skiers on the longer courses, then move through progressively shorter distances for the younger classes.
Due to technical difficulties with rescheduling the event, this Town Series Race #4 will limit the competition heats to High School/Open; Grade 5-8/Junior High. Junior Nordics skiers will have the opportunity to ski the course with their color groups at 2pm following the final heats.
