If you’ve ever wanted to try biathlon or build your skills, the Fairbanks Biathlon Club has an opportunity for you.

The club, a part of the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, is hosting multi-day camps for beginning, intermediate, and advanced biathlon skill levels at the Birch Hill Recreation Area biathlon range over the next few weeks. No experience necessary for beginning level. We will teach you everything you need to know to get excited about biathlon. Participants for all levels must be at least 10 years old. (Note: the advanced level classes are already filled.)

The multi-day camps will be held June 1 to July 13. Beginner/intermediate sessions are held from 6-7:45 p.m. Advanced session are held from 4-5:45 p.m. Cost for each is $139. Participants must be members of the Fairbanks Biathlon Club and the US Biathlon Association. All equipment, such as rifles and ammo, will be provided. Sessions will include safety instructions, shooting advice, games and more.

The lead instructor for these events will be Hilary Saucy. She was a competitive biathlete for nine years and has more than nine years of coaching experience working with youth and adults. Her focus is teaching sport and life skills in a safe environment through fun and games.
