Snow or no, ski season in Fairbanks officially starts in early October!
The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks will hold Ski Season Kick-Off Day, sponsored by H B Rueter Engineering, on October 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Stadium area of Birch Hill Recreation Area. This will be a day to provide information about the club’s programs and give people a chance to sign up for:
- NSCF membership (new members and renewals)
- Junior Nordics
- FXC and FXC Masters
- Adult Lessons
- Biathlon
People will also have a chance to donate to the Birch Hill Trail Fund and learn about coaching opportunities, including for Junior Nordics, Adult Lessons, and Biathlon.
Local ski and winter sports shops will be on hand to answer questions about equipment and services for the upcoming season.
The event will follow recommended guidelines regarding COVID-19.
- Information booths will be set up outside in the Stadium and spaced generously.
- Representatives from NSCF and associated groups will wear face masks.
- Grab and go informational handouts will be available.
- Complimentary face coverings will be available. NSCF face masks will be available for purchase.
