Do you already know the basics of cross-country skiing but want to up your game a little? We have some classes for you!

The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is offering two intermediate-level classes starting in later November. Registration is currently open for both classes, but due to COVID-19 and CDC recommendations, class sizes are limited to 10 participants. Registration is on a first-come, first served basis.

Each class costs $80 for a four-week session (one lesson per week). Participants must be members of the NSCF. Membership must be purchased separately.

 

  • Intermediate Classic Skiing with Instructor Max Donaldson
  • When: Mondays (6pm – 7pm), class begins Nov. 23.
  • Where: Birch Hill Recreation Area
  • Who: Those wanting to focus on improving technique. Participants should have completed the beginning class at least once and feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain, especially hills.

 

  • Intermediate Skate Skiing with Instructor Donovan Granger
  • When: Wednesdays (6pm – 7pm), class begins Nov. 25.
  • Where: Birch Hill Recreation Area
  • Who: Those wanting to focus on improving technique. Participants should have completed the beginning class at least once and feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain, especially hills.
