Frank Soos, long-time NSCF member, has passed away.
Frank died last week in a solo bike accident in Maine where he and his wife, Margo Klass, spent long periods of time each summer.
Frank was a long-time member of SCUM (Susan’s Class of Untrainable Men), a social ski group of mostly older men. He participated in many NSCF ski races either as a racer or volunteer. He served for a time as a club board member and was instrumental in getting the Skier Development Oversight Committee established.
Long-time friends Dave Musgrave and Robert Hannon have each done tributes to Frank. Dave’s is written and can be found here. Robert’s was done for KUAC radio and can be found here. (Robert has also rerun an interview he did with Frank two years ago. Listen to it here.)
Frank was a writer and cross-country skiing often appeared in his writing. Links to four of those pieces (the first three of which are also in Dave’s remembrance) are included below.
