Registration is open for the first event in the Frank Soos Memorial Distance Series, the Gundeloppet, which takes place Saturday at Birch Hill, beginning at 11AM.
All registration is online at: https://register.chronotrack.c
Early registration is open through Thursday. The entry fee for NSCF members is $15, and for non-members, it’s $20. After Thursday night, fees increases by $5.
The race distance is 15Km, using much of the same course used for the 1984 FIS Men’s World Cup race which was won by Gunde Svan of Sweden. There is a 7.5Km race available for those interested in a shorter distance. The 7.5Km course starts and finishes on the same path as the 15Km, but takes the Zoomer Cutoff on White Bear. The race is a mass start, classic technique event.

This is the first of three races in the series, which has been named after Frank Soos, who died this past August in a cycling accident. Frank was a regular participant in the Distance Series for many years, as well as being a regular on the NSCF race crew as a timer.
The 2nd race is a 20Km event (with a 10Km option) on January 15. That will be a free technique event in mass start format.
The final race in the series is a 30Km, mass start classic technique event on Sunday, February 20.
