Junior Nordics COVID-19 Mitigation Policy
This policy is in place to create a safe and fun environment for Junior Nordics skiers and coaches this season.
Face Coverings
Cloth face coverings are required at all times during Junior Nordics lessons.
Facilities
All lessons will be conducted entirely outdoors. The warming hut should not be used for staging, waxing, or socializing. The hut is available for bathroom/ emergency use only. If you do need to enter the warm-up hut you must:
Maintain appropriate social distancing when passing others
Wear a cloth face covering at all times
Temperature Cut Off
Due to very limited access to indoor facilities this season, all practices will be cancelled if temperature if colder than 0F, 2 hours prior to the start of lessons. Cancellations will be posted on our website.
Group Sizes
Junior Nordics participants will be split into groups of 10 or less. To safely accommodate all patrons, lessons will be staged with two start times each day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. By staging start times, we are able to offer safer lessons and still maintain occupancy levels as per a usual year with 250+ families.
Drop Off & Meeting Location
We will use three different drop off and trail entry locations:
1. Drop off in main upper lot in front of the Ski Center (big red building), skiers may access trails at the top of the Warm Up Loop.
2. Drop off in main upper lot, skiers may access trails up the main set of stairs bringing them into the stadium near the flag pole.
3. Drop off at far end of new, upper lot skiers may access trails up the secondary set of stairs and enter the stadium near the timing building.
Colored flags that coordinate with your group color will be at each meeting location. A map showing each drop off point and group meeting will be e-mailed to all participants.
Social Distancing:
Everyone will maintain 6ft of social distance.
There will be no contact games or drills
Parent Involvement
Parents of all 5 yr olds who are new to skiing are required to attend practice with their child. Parents are required to remain on site for the duration of lessons and be reachable by phone at all times.
Special Note to Parents of Beginner Skiers:
Our coaches will be putting forth their best efforts to comply with physical distancing protocols. However, we know that there may be a circumstance when a skier absolutely needs assistance getting up, and we will be there to do so. We want to keep our coaches and your children safe, so if there is a particular child who repeatedly needs assistance and is unable to independently get themselves up, we will most likely ask that child to try Junior Nordics next season instead of this year. In this event, a full refund for both NSCF membership and Junior Nordics fees will be given.
