Golden Heart Trail Run

The Golden Heart Trail Run, organized by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, is the only race in the Running Club North Usibelli Series held solely on trails. If that weren’t incentive enough, the course includes hay bales that runners can hurdle over or run around. The run is great for runners of all ages and for cross-country skiers who typically race Birch Hill trails only when covered in snow.

The event, held each year in August, includes separate races for different age groups. For information on the current year event see our club news page or our club calendar.

The 2019 Golden Heart Trail Run will be held on August 24.  Runners ages seven and younger race 1Km beginning at 10:00AM.  Runners ages 8-14 compete over 2.5Km, starting at 10:15AM.  The 5Km race (two laps of a 2.5Km) for runners 15 and older starts at 10:45AM.  The race is sponsored by Dr. Kate Carey, Tanana Valley Clinic, OMM, and Metropolitan Garage. Register for the 2019 race here.

Net proceeds from the race support the NSCF’s youth racing and training programs.
